We celebrate several special occasions in May – Mother’s Day, Graduation, and Memorial Day. This album includes poems and songs to celebrate each of these days.
Mother’s Day is even more special to me this year because on May 3, I (Margaret) became a grandmother. I am very thankful to have this new experience so I am including 2 of my favorite songs of thanksgiving at the end of this album. They are, “I Am Blessed”, and “Jesus, We Just Want to Thank You”.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, we have a poem entitled, “Thank God for Mother’s Love” and 2 songs – “Suppertime” and “Precious Memories” that remind us of childhood and mothers.
A poem by M.S. Lowndes encourages graduates to follow God’s will for their future. The song, “It Is No Secret”, gives encouragement that no matter what obstacles they face, they will never be alone. God will always be with them. When they count their blessings, they will always be able to see what the Lord has done.
C.W. Johnson wrote “A Memorial Day Poem” to show his feelings about a Memorial Day Celebration. The song, “An Honor to Serve”, by Ray Boltz, describes the patriotic feelings of men & women who serve in the military. We will be forever grateful for those who died in service as well as all military persons in the past, present, and future who protect our freedom. Our prayer should continue to be “God Bless America”.
